▸ India’s Ramsar site, the Ladakh’s Tso Kar Wetland Complex has become the 42nd Ramsar site added to the list of recognized sites of international importance. The wetland is a place that is flooded by the water seasonally or permanently. This land is different from the normal land which is distinguished by the characteristic adapted to the unique hydric soil and vegetation of aquatic plants. This 42nd Ramsar site is recognized by the Ramsar Convention which is established in 1971 by UNESCO.
